Rewilding in 4 Steps
REGENERATING AOTEAROA THROUGH THE MOBILISATION OF LOCAL COMMUNITY
Rewilding is a progressive approach to conservation. It’s about letting nature take care of itself, enabling natural processes to shape land and sea, repair damaged ecosystems and restore degraded landscapes. Through rewilding, wildlife’s natural rhythms create wilder, more biodiverse habitats
1. AFFORDABLE FLORA
It starts with a seed through non-profit, wholesale nurseries.
2. Planting projects
Communities creating habitats for the animals to return.
3. Pestbuster Projects
Kaitiaki working towards a pest-free Aotearoa.
4. Weedbuster Projects
Kaitiaki working towards a weed-free Aotearoa
Volunteer Positions
The greatest skill you can possess is passion
Tāne is a non for profit project set up by Paul & Anna at their 150 acre farm in Ngatimoti of which 50 acres have been set aside to rewild.
“There are groups setting up in this area. There are planting, trapping and weed busting groups. My neighbour has already successfully rewilded his section so we have a proven template. The biggest issue the projects are facing is securing a ready supply of affordable natives.”
Paul is setting up the first Tāne Nursery at the farm to supply his and local projects. Two acres of growing on land have been set aside with a large pole barn that will be converted into a greenhouse.
Moving forward Paul be developing the Tāne Community website as a vehicle to coordinate and educate.
Please get in touch if you feel like lending a hand. Paul

Something BIG is Stirring
There’s a rustling in the autumn leaves. It has started, seeds are germinating, roots reaching out, the first young shoots are stretching skywards.
Good people are coming together.
Yes! We broke it.
Yes! We are all responsible and now the time has come to put it right.
The collective will is there but more importantly, exponentially more importantly, we’re doing something about it.
If Covid has shown us one thing it is that ‘success’ manifested into glass and concrete is neither sustainable or even important.
Our visions align, our joy is found in the simple things. Fulfillment, tangible, soul-warming joy is found when the seas bloom, the forests return, the birds sing and the animals roam.
